At the first opening on the left, Renee paused in the doorway and watched three young women arranged on their knees around a tall man who was standing in the middle of the room. The man was naked, his body darkly tanned. There were whorls of thick grey curly hair across his chest. The three women were all young and all wearing collars. They were arranged around him and taking turns to pleasure him with their mouths. As each girl took her turn, the other two kissed each other and their hands roamed freely across one another’s naked bodies. Renee leaned against the wall and watched with dark fascination. One of the women caught a glimpse of her and turned, smiling. Renee waved uncertainly. The submissive girl winked to her and then turned back to the glistening hard shaft that was before her. She seemed to make a great display of her talented mouth, knowing Renee was watching in the background.

Beyond the final door on the right side of the corridor was a room with three wide wooden benches. They were made of rough unfinished timber, each one painted black and each one a squat, solid piece. Renee lingered in the doorway long enough to see that there was a woman on her hands and knees, chained on top of one of the benches.

The night after Amber bites Gilbert, he wakes up in pain and confusion in a hospital. He wants answers, so he escapes and heads to the arcade where they first met.

“Where to?” the driver asks.

“Bucky Bee’s on Broadway.”

Everything seems mercifully quiet the moment I close the door of the cab, but I’m noticing some extremely unpleasant odors. There’s the smell of cigarettes, the musky odor of sweat, and something that smells like grungy gym socks. The lights outside on the streets of New York are so bright and colorful. It’s like I’m Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, when everything goes from black-and-white to Technicolor. I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

The people remind me of television commercials for fruit-flavored breakfast cereals. So many flavors, and all so yummy. This is so wrong. It’s like I’m that damn shark from Finding Nemo. I have to keep telling myself that people are people, not food. I tie my sneakers, and try to spend the rest of the ride just staring at my feet.

The driver lets me off. After paying the fare, I’m left with thirty-four dollars from the money Uncle Ian gave me, and I still have the other thirteen in my wallet, or rather Amber does.

“Hi, Alex,” I say as I walk into Bucky Bee’s. “Anything broken tonight?” I don’t know why I said that. Force of habit I guess.

“Gilbert?”

“Yeah?”

“You look different.”

“I've had a really bad day.” Oh, wait, he’s probably talking about my glasses. “Oh, and I . . . got laser eye-surgery.” Okay, stupid thing to say. I’m pretty sure you have to wear goggles for weeks after eye surgery.

“Really, that fast?”

“Oh, yeah.” I should have said contact lenses.

“Looks good on you. Maybe I should get laser eye-surgery too.”

He informs me that all the machines are in working order, so my services aren’t needed tonight. Still he lets me in.

I scan the tables. Amber isn't at one. So what do I do now?

Oh, wait, there she is, leaning against the wall next to the game I fixed last night. She’s still wearing her bright red dress, and the navy-blue jacket she borrowed from me is draped over her shoulders. She sees me, and she comes over. I find an empty booth and sit down. She sits opposite me. Bucky Bee’s looks like a rainbow threw up in it, the colors are so damn bright.

“I hardly recognized you,” Amber says, with a wide smile. “You look great.”

“Great like a corpse at an open-casket funeral?”

“No, silly, great as in you're no longer wearing those nerdy glasses, your zits are gone, your hair and skin look terrific, and you have this really sexy brooding stare.”

“Brooding stare?”

“Mmm . . .” Amber is looking at me and making a yummy sound. I can't help but twitch, knowing how she thinks I taste and what part of me she’s tasted. “It’s very sexy.”

“This is not a brooding stare. This is my I'm-so-mad-I-could-kill-you face.”

“Well, whatever it is, it's working for you.”

That’s it. I can't keep my anger inside any longer. “How could you do this to me??”

Wait a minute . . . Did I just yell in Bucky Bee's?

Fortunately the noise level is so high I don't think anyone’s noticed. Oh, I’m wrong. Alex is staring at Amber, so he’s noticed, and he probably thinks I'm nuts to be yelling at a girl who is way out of my league. Wish I didn't know what you don't know, Alex. And Chloe, who is working at the counter tonight, is also staring at me. And some guy or girl dressed as Bucky Bee may or may not be staring at me. It’s hard to tell with the costume on.

Amber’s looking around too. We have to wait until no one seems to be staring at us anymore. It takes several excruciatingly long minutes.

She sighs. “Look, Gil, I know you're scared.”

“That's putting it mildly.”

“But the truth is being a vampire—”

“Please don't say that word.”

She raises an eyebrow. “Vampire?”

“Please don't say it.”

She laughs and shakes her head. “Sounds like someone is in denial.”

She’s right. I am in denial. But what else can I do? How the hell am I supposed to accept this? “I. Am. So. Screwed.”

“No, you're not.” She has this huge smile on her face, and I want to believe her, but . . . “Listen to me, Gil. In a few days after the pain has worn off, you're going to see this is the best thing that ever happened to you.”

About this Author:

I've always been super geeky about comedy, fantasy and science fiction.

When I was little, I'd take them apart and analyze them, kind of like what Gilbert Garfinkle--the hero of Why My Love Life Sucks--does with electronics. This continued into my college years, when I majored in English Literature and Theater Studies.

For twelve years I worked in magazines and newspapers as an editorial cartoonist, illustrator, editor, arts-and-entertainment writer (specializing in children's entertainment and, of course, comedy), and a consumer columnist.

My last job was at the Jerusalem Post, but I had to quit when my family decided to move to New Jersey to pursue better education options for my autistic son.

This was in February 2001. Since then I've written 40 picture books and seven novels for kids and teens, four of which I've indie published. I was an ABNA quarterfinalist with Why My Love Life Sucks, and I won third place in SmartWriter's Write It Now contest in the the YA category (which was judged by Alex Flinn, the author of Beastly) for my romantic, YA ghost story, Ride of Your Life.

Short Review:

I really enjoyed reading Runes. The characters breathe a life of their own and the story is exciting. And let's face it: Anyone who swoons over hot fictional guys (that's most, if not all, of us) will be adding Torin to their list. That ending! It will leave you wanting more right that second. I can't wait to see where this series will go.

From the corner of my eye, I could tell the instructor was tall and lean. He didn’t look too bad for an old dude. I was still glued to my Kindle, struggling to deal with the angst in the book, as I kept my composure in class. I have to finish this chapter. I could not believe what the heroine was about to do. I had a strong desire to scream and throw my Kindle against the wall. Feeling an urgent need to pace, I instead bounced my leg nervously as I chewed on my thumb. I knew this wasn’t good. I was having a book meltdown, sitting in a training class, as the instructor started talking.

The instructor introduced himself. Wait. Did I hear him say Lucas? Am I in the right class? The instructor was supposed to be Captain Rafael Santos. Feeling a surge of panic rise inside of me, my face flushed as I painfully tore myself away from my novel.

Slowly, I looked up through my lashes to see that he was walking in my direction. He stopped right in front of me. He was wearing black cargo pants that fit rather nicely on what could only be a tall body. My eyes kept going up until I hit his gray standard county-issued polo, which just so happened to show that he worked out. I shyly smiled as heat rose to my cheeks. I wanted to die of pure embarrassment.

As a bright blush warmed my face, he looked straight into my eyes. He had the bluest eyes I’d ever seen. With eyes just like Miami’s sky and his dirty blond hair cropped short, he was breathtaking. My peripheral vision was correct. He was tall, lean, and yes, muscular. He was so not the old dude. I was a paralyzed mute. It took all my willpower to keep my mouth from hanging open.

Bending over, he leaned in close to my ear. As his unshaven face brushed against my neck, he whispered, “I’m a jealous fool, and I don’t share. Do you mind putting it away?” His tone told me he wasn’t asking but telling me what to do. He paused briefly as he leaned even closer. “Name?”

My heart skipped a beat. “Daniela Ruiz,” I stammered.

As he slowly stood back up, he winked. He moved to close the door and then walked back down to the front of the class.

At that moment, I realized that I’d been holding my breath with my legs pressed tightly together. Someone call a code blue. I wouldn’t mind at all if he had to administer CPR on me. Hmm, maybe I was a little premature on my stance involving men. For the first time in a very long time, I felt hopeful and a little turned on. Okay, I was a lot turned on.

So SEXY! my mind purred as I looked down to see the rest of him. Although he was wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and jeans, I could tell that he was built and that his body underneath was just as incredible. Our eyes briefly locked, and then he smiled. CHAPTER 1

"What do you know about my sister and that prancin' prick of a fairy prince?"

Elora blinked, but in the space of that flutter he learned all he needed to know. He had found out the first night Storm brought her to poker, back at Jefferson Unit, that her very expressive face telegraphed even the tiniest nuance or feeling or thought. By now he knew her so well that she was as transparent as air. She was caught off guard because she hadn't expected that question while Ram was cooking a leisurely Sunday breakfast.

"Say that three times fast?"

"No' goin' to work this time. Stay on topic."

"You just don't like him because he can stand toe to toe with you and not be cowed by the H.O.H. elfster."

"ELFSTER!? What in Paddy's Name, Elora? And what is H.O.H.?"

"Hall of Heroes."

Ram turned away from frying bacon and gave her a look. It probably didn't have the effect he intended. He was wearing jeans, a long sleeve black tee that stretched across his chest enticingly, and a black Jack Daniels apron tied around his waist. She thought perhaps nothing was sexier than watching Ram's muscles ripple while cooking her breakfast.

"Do no' try to deflect. 'Tis I. And Paddy knows I can tell when you're hidin' somethin'."

Ram looked determined.

"Speaking of hiding. You're going to have to do something about all these guys overrunning our property. Our home - the one that was intended to be our very own, very private property. Please, Ram. Make them go away."

His expression softened a little as he decided to allow himself to be temporarily derailed.

"Sol, Simon, and every one of your friends agree that we can no' leave you and Helm vulnerable after the threat those alien buggers left hangin' in the air. That goes especially for your friend, Sir Storm."

"My friend, Sir Storm?"

"Aye. Your friend. The bloody wanker suggested that I'm no' responsible enough to be entrusted with lookin' out for you. Said, 'You're no' takin' good care of my namesake's mother. I'll be forced to give the job to someone else if you do no' shape up and begin takin' it seriously'."

Elora laughed. "He said that?"

"Aye. As if 'twas all my doin' that you ended up givin' birth alone in a freezin' wolf cave. With. No. Phone."

"Well..."

Ram narrowed his eyes at her. "Think very carefully about what you are about to say before you say it."

Elora smiled brightly. "I was going to say that no one in his right mind could fault you."

Ram nodded and resumed turning the bacon. "Exactly. I should have reminded him what happened when he was in charge of the Baka interview at Unit Drac. He pouted for hours after learnin' first hand that the Lady Laiken does as she fuck-well pleases."

Elora concurred by nodding vigorously. "It's a burden, but you bear it well, my love."

"All kiddin' aside. I do. I really do." He began setting strips of cooked bacon out to drain the grease.

"Well, Sir Storm is going to be plenty busy with his own burdens."

"What's your meanin?"

"They're expecting."

"Expectin' a baby?"

"No. They're expecting Publishers Clearing House to pay for their villa renovation."

Ram gave her a look. "You know, I'm thinkin' there's only enough of this lovely bacon for one and, since I cooked, I really should be keepin' it for myself."

"Yes! They're expecting a baby. Litha thinks it's a girl."

"A girl!" Ram practically whooped. "Paddy's Great Balls Afire. I can no' wait to see Storm try to be da to a girl." He laughed enjoying that idea and then grew serious. "As for the buggers who violated my grandda's forest, I'll no' be givin' 'em a second chance at my family."

"Rammel. I hear you and I understand you."

"I do no' suppose the next sentence will be 'and I obey you'."

Elora smirked while she snagged a piece of bacon. "Have I ever mentioned you make great bacon?" She nuzzled his ear on the way back to her stool. "Almost as good as chocolate."

Ram pointed a spatula at her. "I swear to Paddy you have that thin'... that ADDD."

"ADHD?"

"Aye."

Elora started laughing. "Pot."

When his brows drew together she smiled because Helm looked at her with that same expression several times a day. They made him accidentally in a snow covered cottage, but he was made with love and now he was a little bit her and a little bit him. A miracle indeed.

"You can no' concentrate 'cause you've been smokin' dope?"

"No! 'Pot' as in 'you're the pot calling the kettle black'."

Ram stared at her for a few beats, finally shook his head and said, "No idea."

"You don't have an expression here about the pot calling the kettle black?"

"We do no' that I know of, but I think I begin to follow your point. You're tryin' to say that I should no' be accusin' you of short attention because mine is even shorter?"

Of their own accord, his eyes drifted down to the cleavage showing between the Henley buttons she'd left undone.

She chuckled. "See?"

"See what?"

She did a little shimmy and he grinned sheepishly. "Guilty." He put an orange juice in front of her. "And be careful of the sexy dancin'. You'll be gettin' Helm's milk all over your clothes again."

Elora rolled her eyes. "He gets enough. Have you seen how chubby his little face is getting?"

"Well, blood will tell."

Elora narrowed her eyes to slits. "Rammel. Paddy help you if you're saying what I think you're saying."

"All I'm sayin' is that chubby cheeks do no' run on my side of the family." When she took a mock threatening step toward him, he laughed. "Just teasin' darlin' girl. Just teasin'. You know I would no' change a hair on your head. Or his."

"Okay. All I'm sayin' is that insanity doesn't run on my side of the family."

A look of horror slowly covered her face as she realized what she'd just said. She hadn't yet personally confronted what the assassin in the woods had said about the Laiwynn clan, but if it was true, it meant that cruelty and despotic behavior might run in her family.

Ram put his utensils down, wiped his hand on his apron, and offered himself for a hug.

She stepped into the comfort of his arms.

"What I was trying to tell you earlier is that I've never made any secret of the fact that I won't give up my freedom to live a restricted life, no matter how luxurious or comfortable. Not for anything."

"No' even for Helm? And me?"

"That's not fighting fair and you know it."

"When it comes to your safety - and our son's - you think I care about fightin' fair? 'Tis the very last of my concerns."

"Let me put it this way. You need to come up with a more agreeable Plan B and you need to do it while I'm still in a listening mood."

"Any ideas?"

She looked down at her pretty Holland china plate, part of the set they got as a wedding present from Kay and Katrina. She had a picture of how good life was going to be there in their new home. Had the Raleng clan assassins spoiled her vision of the future to the point of ruin?

Was it time to confront that possibility?

"No." When she looked back up, Ram thought he might have seen her look just a little worn. Like her aura hadn't been buffed in a while. Sometimes he caught her looking off into space and he suspected that she was thinking about what she'd been told by the Raleng clan assassin, wondering if the massacre of her family was really a coup d'etat." Armed people guarding the house. Hardly what I pictured."

"I know." Ram sat down next to her and took her hand in his. "We'll figure it out. Monq's workin' on it." He pulled up like he had an idea. The change was so subtle that no one besides Elora would have even noticed it.

"What?"

"He's workin' on detectin' interdimensional activity - identifyin' the source and location. He says 'tis a logical first step toward the defense system we're goin' to be needin'."

"Yeah. I heard."

"Well..." She knew she was in trouble when he turned on that look that he had given her the first night they had met, the puppy dog plea that was so irresistible she could be manipulated out of her socks with full knowledge and complicity. She hated that. It was... manipulation by consent.

"Stop that right now!"

"'Twas just thinkin' that, for the time bein', just while we're sortin' this out, maybe we should move back into Jefferson Unit. You and Helm would be safe there. I know 'tis no' ideal,but there is the court park, food, and babysittin' on demand. 'Tis no' this." He looked around the room and gave a little sigh. He had put a lot of himself into renovating the property and somewhere along the way had come to understand why she loved it and pictured their little family living happily ever after there. "But we were happy at Jefferson too. We could even help Monq. Maybe speedin' thin's along a bit?"

"I'm expecting puppies."

"I truly hope no one is recordin' this conversation." Ram's mouth softened at the corners making him look so beautifully kissable that she had to lean in and remind herself if those kisses were as good as she remembered. He didn't seem to mind complying with her wish. When she pulled back, he said, "We could get Glen to keep an eye on that. The wolf pups I mean."

"This is not just some ruse that's going to get us sucked back into active duty?"

Ram cocked his head like he was having trouble with that question.

"Why would I go to so much trouble to keep you safe only so I could risk gettin' you killed?"

Elora stared at Ram for a few seconds. "I'm not the only knight in the room and we both know how persuasive Sol can be when he wants something. Before I even consider this proposal, I need some reassurance that none of us, not you, not me, not the baby - none of us - are going to end up on any field assignment. Not in any capacity."

Ram nodded. "Deal."

"Okay."

"Okay you approve of my answer or okay we're packin' for Fort Dixon?"

"Fort Dixon, but that's all of us. Blackie too. And we need an apartment big enough for the four of us."

"Thank Paddy. I'm goin' to get a good night's sleep for a change."

She hadn't realized just how much stress the fear of assassination had caused Ram until she saw his facial muscles relax. Yeah. It was a good plan. A good choice, everything considered.

"And, let's outline what would have to happen to make it possible for us to come back here and proceed to live life the way it should be lived. By ourselves. Speaking of which, I'm also not giving up the pleasure of a weekend at the cottage - just us - forever."

"Certainly. I'm no' unreasonable."

She smiled at him lovingly and indulgently. "Of course not. You're my hero."

Star narrows her eyes at me, her full, bottom lip puckering out the way it does when she’s in serious thought—and though I’m listening to her words, all I want to do is trap that bottom lip between my teeth. Nip it and caress it with my tongue.

“I knew you’d say that,” she says. “And that is precisely why I didn’t want you to know.” She raises her hand from my chest and swipes the wet hair from my forehead. Her body subtly moves against mine as she does, and it drives me wild. “A possible retaliation by the guardians is just one more weighted burden on top of the many you already carry. You don’t need the added strain. Let me deal with Candra and the Kythan. They’re my kindred. As long as I’m their equal—in both power and status—I can protect you.”

This woman—the woman I’ve loved my entire life—is my protector. She not only guards against physical threats, but watches over my mental wellbeing. However, I cannot allow her to carry all my problems alone anymore. I want to be her guardian, to be the one to comfort her when she’s fearful, and protect her against this world.

I tilt my head and suck in a deep breath. “This is why you won’t be with me.” I want her to admit it. If she finally confesses that our titles and her battle with the right course of action have been the only reasons for her kept affections, then by Gods…help me from laying her out on this tile and taking her. I won’t stop.

She nods.

“This is the only reason.” She nods again, and that is all the conformation I need. “Then I refuse to let them keep us apart for one more moment.” I grasp her face between my hands and claim her lips with mine.

Her lips are soft and warm as I achingly coax them into a fevered kiss, unable to hold back my desire for her. I had planned for our first kiss many times, imagined it over and over. The way I would caress her lips slowly and lovingly, conveying my affections. But every emotion I have ever felt for Star rushes to the surface all at once, and I can’t slow. I won’t. I won’t allow her a moment to question our actions, to reconsider us. I’m going to kiss her senseless—kiss the reason right out of her infuriatingly rational head.

She shivers and locks her arms around my neck. Moving my hands along her waist, I grab her shift, clenching my fingers in the material and pulling her closer to me, but also trying to restrain my passion. I’m so hard beneath her; I ache to be inside her. A moan works its way up from my chest. Her body moves on top and then bears down as she rubs herself against me, and it’s my undoing.

I dart my tongue deeper into the hollow of her mouth, craving her taste. Her moan rumbles through me, sending a current rippling over my skin, as if she’s infusing me with her power. As her hands fist in my hair, I touch every inch of her, my fingers wanting to be everywhere at once. I thrust up against her and her hips press down, matching my rhythm. Her thin undergarment brushes over me, and I can feel the heat just beneath the bothersome material. I want it gone—to remove it in one quick motion so that there is nothing between us. Only her soft skin against mine.

A tremor of need rocks my body and I pull back, painfully breaking our kiss. “Don’t deny me your feelings anymore,” I say, my voice hoarse. “I need you now—all of you.” Desire blooms in her glowing blue eyes, and I’m nearly lost in them. I swallow, gaining my conviction. “I want to belong to you. Let me please you… Let me serve you.”

Her eyes flash, and for one second I fear her rejection. I won’t be able to go back, to return our relationship to the way it was before I felt her in my arms, her tongue mingling with mine, her body trembling from my touch. No. I refuse to go back. Lifting us out of the water, I hold her close as I step onto the tiled floor.

She will give me one last chance to convince her. I at least get that before she makes her decision. If she denies me afterward, I will accept it…though I know it will break me.

I hold her bright gaze as I walk us into my chamber, the slight breeze hitting my wet skin with a cool kiss. I pull her body closer to me, reveling in the feel of her legs locked around my waist. I need her to want me as badly as I crave her.

She swallows hard as I slowly lower her feet to the floor. Her body slides down against mine, heightening my need for her all over again. I run my fingers up her arms, and she shivers. Reaching the silver clasps of her soaked shift, I pause, a fire igniting in my stomach, right before I undo them. The wet material hits the ground, revealing her body to me.

My eyes longingly take in every curve, every silky inch of skin, the swell of her breasts and their perked peaks. I run my tongue over my lips and force my eyes away from her beautiful body, reminding myself why I brought her in here. I tear myself away from her side to search for the asp necklace I’ve wanted to give her since…forever.

I don’t know the exact moment I knew I loved Star. It didn’t smack me over the head. Looking back, it’s as if I’ve always loved her in some form, whether as a friend, a confident, or a desired lover—as if I’ve always known she was the only woman for me. But I do recall the day I bought the asp. We were swimming in the ocean. She was lying on her back staring into the sky, her wet shift teasingly outlining her body…and I just watched. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. I’m sure I had a dumb look on my face, but in that moment, I wanted her. No other would ever compare.

That day I made up a weak excuse to leave and rushed to the Emporium, frustratingly searching for something to convey my feelings. And when I found the golden asp, I felt confident that it would show her how I felt. Only, I never gathered enough courage to actually give it to her. There was always something to get in the way. Bad timing, or bad circumstances. Truly, I was a coward. And standing here before her now, naked and vulnerable, I’m still a coward.

But my stubbornness to have this woman overpowers my fear.

I circle her and come up behind, then sweep her dark hair to one shoulder. She presses her back against my chest, her warm body causing all logic to flee my brain, and I clench my jaw. I place the asp around her neck and fasten the clasp.

Inhaling a deep breath through my nose, I brace myself for her reaction. She picks up the necklace in one hand and glances down. “Xarion—”

“I should have given it to you long ago,” I say, emboldening myself to move before her, to see the wary expression lighting her face. “But you would never give me a moment’s peace to attempt it.” A nervous laugh escapes my mouth.

She understands the meaning behind this gift—the weight of it. I’m asking her to be my intended. To accept me as her lover, husband—her other half.

“This is so dangerous, Xarion. If anyone ever found out—if the Council discovered—”

“I don’t care.” I run the pads of my fingers over her smooth cheek, tilting her head up. “My title be damned. I’ve loved you for ages. And I’m going to make you mine.”

I kiss her. With all the love and passion in my being, I kiss her. I want her to feel every emotion thrumming through me. And her whispered words of fear—fear of them, not of us—bolster my resolve. She has always belonged to me. I was only too dim-witted not to recognize her feelings, and how afraid she is. I’m going to erase every fear inside of her and replace them with the certainty that we were made for each other.

I caress her lips with mine, slowly at first and then with more determination, as I guide her backward onto the mattress. Her body fans out beneath me. I grasp her thighs, encouraging her legs to part, and lower myself between her. She releases a soft gasp as my lips travel her skin from knees to thigh—my hands gripping her hips.

My mouth follows the curve of her hipbone to the sensitive skin below her belly button, and I’m tempted to taste every bit of her; not leave any part of her undiscovered by my mouth. But as I reach her breasts, she slides her legs along mine, bringing me closer—and my body trembles as I try to hold back, to go slowly, the need to be inside of her so fierce and demanding it causes a physical pain in my lower half. I clamp my eyes closed as her hands roam over my back, coaxing me to continue.

My chest lowers to hers, our bodies melding together. The heat of her desire washes over me, and I’m through. I can no longer hold back. I bury my face in her neck and greedily take in her scent as I find her. A small gasp escapes her mouth as I slide in slowly…the feel of her driving me mad—wanting to be within her all at once.

Her nails sink into my skin, and the pain causes me to shudder. I push in farther, and her warmth surrounds me. My eyes roll into the back of my head with pleasure I’ve never felt. I kiss her neck, my tongue working over her soft skin, her shoulder, her breasts—I’m all over the place. I reign in my need and push up. Hovering above her, I find her eyes.

I open my mouth to ask if she’s all right—if I need to stop. But her eyes are heated and glassy as she nods, and a smile flits across her face. She pulls me to her, her fingers gripping my hair as my lips come down on hers. A moan rumbles from the back of my throat as she lifts her hips, pushing me in deeper yet. I thrust once, deep and claiming.

Her cry is breathless and needy and it sends my hands to her hips, guiding her body along with mine. I’m losing control. I want the release but I never want to stop. It’s maddening and frightening all at once, and I want her to feel pleasure, too. This is more painful for her…and I vow to give her pleasure immediately after. To kiss the swollen skin and work her body into a frenzy until she gives over to the feeling that’s leveling me.

I could so fall in love with him. I could fall in love with him in a heartbeat. He brings his other hand to my waist, and pulls me in close.
