Here's mine:

In those days in the small towns of West Virginia, we didn't have cameras that could take a picture in color.

-Snow in Summer by Jane Yolen

I'm thinking it must have been a while ago if you couldn't take a color photo.

Here's mine:

The viscous acid of the demon's blood had already begun to eat away at the shining blade.

- Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Well, it's obvious that someone was either fighting a demon or saw someone fighting a demon, and that someone won. Now the blade is being destroyed by the demon's acidic blood. If you read the first two lines first the person fighting is Will Herondale and he's the won who just killed the demon but didn't pulled the dagger out before it got all yucky.

Third Sentence Thursday (#1): Devoted

Third Sentence Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Sniffly Kitty (temporarily by Proud Book Nerd.)
  1. Take the book you are currently reading and post the third sentence.
  2. Share your thoughts on the sentence.
  3. Post a link to your blog post in the link list below. Don’t forget to link back here, too! If you don’t have a blog, just leave it in the comments here.
  4. Visit one or two of the other blogs to check out their third sentence.
Here's mine:

I squeezed my knees into the horse's flank, pushing him to race faster, then faster still.

- Devoted by Hilary Duff

It would seem like Clea is running away in this sentence, or at least trying to. As fast as she possibly can. But she is actually trying to race toward Acceptance, as the first sentence says. But that's easier said than done.
