Julia has a secret:
she killed the guy she loved. It was an accident—sort of.
Julia is a Sary, the soul of a child who died before taking her first breath. Without this 'breath of life' she and others like her must help those on the verge of suicide. It's a job Julia used to enjoy, until the accident that claimed her boyfriend’s life—an accident she knows was her fault. If living with the guilt weren't enough, she's now assigned to help a girl dealing with the loss of her mother, something Julia's not exactly the best role model for. If she can't figure out a way to help her, Julia's going to lose her position in the Sary, something she swore to her boyfriend would never happen.

About the Author:
Meradeth’s never been a big fan of talking about herself, but if you really want to know, here are some random tidbits about her:
She’s a Northern
California girl. This generally means she talks too fast and use
"like" a lot.
When she’s not
writing, she’s sequencing dead people’s DNA. For fun!
She’s been writing
since she was 11 years old. It's her hobby, her passion, and she’s so happy to
get to share her work!
If she could have a
super-power, it would totally be flying. Which is a little strange, because
she’s terrified of heights.

The Fall Season and Halloween
Hi! Thanks so much for hosting me today! I thought I’d talk
a little about the Halloween season and scary books (well, really, why I’m a
total wimp when it comes to them at least :).
Halloween is fast approaching, and it seems to be everyone’s
favorite season for getting scared. Sadly, I am not one of those people. Case
in point: hubby got me to watch Paranormal Activity a few years ago and I had
nightmares for weeks. (It didn’t help that the night after watching it, our mirror
in the hallway spontaneously fell in a giant crash in the middle of the night.
Freaky!) I try to steer clear of stuff that’s going to freak me out or give me
nightmares. I like my sleep!
One of the freakiest things I’ve ever done on a Halloween
was with a group of friends who thought it would be a fun idea to take a TV up
into the woods, hook it up to a generator, and watch Friday the 13th. (I’ll give you three guesses what got
me to agree to that in the first place!) Smart, right?
Books that might scare are also ones I tend to avoid. I
imagine things just a little too well, I think. But, this doesn’t mean I don’t
read them from time to time. I just need to be in well-lit place when I
do. One of my works-in-progress (not a
Sary story) has some seriously creepy creatures in it, and I honestly freaked
myself out a few times while writing. It was fun—but I knew the ending :). I
little fear is okay, but when it comes to ghosts or other stuff that goes bump
in the night, I’m usually sleeping with all the lights on. A good example would
be Anna Dressed in Blood—it’s on my
kindle and I think it sound awesome, but every time I go to start it, I worry
about getting too scared. Am I totally overreacting? (Yeah, probably, right?)
How about you? Do you like scary books or movies? What’s
your favorite one? Inquiring minds are curious :)
