FBF Book Spotlight: Star Crossed by Jennifer Echols

Star Crossed (Stargazer #1)
by Jennifer Echols
Published February 26th 2013 by Pocket Books

Wendy Mann loves her job rescuing celebrities from public relations scrapes. She grew up with nothing, and now she’s drawn to glitz, glamour, and a lighthearted lifestyle. She speaks her mind, so she’s just the tough cookie to tell stars the truth about how other people see them, even when they don’t want to hear it. But after six years at the top of her game, Wendy crosses the line. A star she was sent to save rebels against her and nearly gets her fired. To salvage her job, she must rehabilitate the career of a singing starlet with a penchant for posting inappropriate photos of herself and arguing online with her famous ex. Problem is, the ex is represented by Wendy’s arch nemesis from college, the hot and haughty Daniel Blackstone. And both stars are scheduled for a collision course on national television, broadcast live from Las Vegas.

Daniel’s uneasy when he hears Wendy Mann from his firm’s most hated competitor has been brought in to revive the career of his client’s ex-girlfriend. Daniel must win at any cost. And if he has to seduce Wendy to smooth the way to their partnership, he’s willing to sacrifice himself for the cause. But Daniel doesn’t count on the scorching heat between them—and when they get to Vegas, all bets are off.

Cover Ogle (#18): Last Kiss Goodnight by Gena Showalter

Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin #1)
by Gena Showalter
Expected publication: November 27th 2012 by Pocket Books
The breathtaking first novel in New York Times best selling author Gena Showalter’s new paranormal romance series, Otherworld Assassins, featuring a black ops agent who is captured and enslaved…and the beautiful deaf girl who holds the key to his salvation…

THE SWEETEST TEMPTATION…

Black ops agent Solomon Judah awakens caged and bound in a twisted zoo where otherworlders are the main attraction. Vika Lukas, the owner’s daughter, is tasked with Solo’s care and feeding. The monster inside him yearns to kill her on sight, even though she holds the key to his escape. But the human side of him realizes the beautiful deaf girl is more than she seems—she’s his.

THE ULTIMATE PRICE…

Vika endures the captives’ taunts and loathing, hoping to keep them alive even if she can’t free them. Only, Solo is different—he protects her. But as hostility turns to forbidden romance, his feelings for her will be used against him…and he’ll be put to a killer test.

I am so excited about this new series from Gena Showalter. The story is so intriguing and November is so far away! The cover is so beautiful. The woman on the cover portraying Vika shows her yearning. It's like she's standing there seeing Solo's torment and she can't do anything. I love how the light of the moon shines on Solo, and Vika's dress is just absolutely beautiful. I think this cover portrays the story perfectly. I can't wait to read Last Kiss Goodnight and find out more!

Cover Ogle (#4): Warrior by Kristina Douglas

I love Kristina Douglas' comment on the cover of WARRIOR on her FB page:
"I've got the new cover, which I'm calling FLAMING CROTCH O' DEATH or maybe just HUNKA HUNKA BURNING LOVE."
Here's the tiny blurb:
Michael, the warrior angel, is the fiercest of the Fallen, their staunchest defender. Never has he met a foe he could not defeat in combat…until the love of a mortal woman threatens to sway him from his greatest duty.
It's definitely a hot cover. Interesting placement for the sword...a FLAMING sword at that. What are your thoughts on the cover of WARRIOR? Are you looking forward to the third book in The Fallen series?
