Follow Friday (#15): Favorite Dad Character

Follow Friday is a weekly event hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read--a great way to discover new amazing blogs and new friends!

Q: Happy Father’s Day! Who is your favorite dad character in a book and why?

Answer: The only character I can think of at the moment is Bran Cornick from the Mercy Thompson series. He's the super powerful Marrok, Alpha of Alphas, but he's also a father figure for Mercy, and she respects him a lot. Nowadays, children don't have or show much respect for their parents, but Bran commands respect. It's not every day that an Alpha wolf will bring and raise a coyote pup within his werewolf pack. I also like his neat little trick of seeming totally unassuming one moment and then using his Alpha-mojo to command the attention of everyone in the room. And even though he needs to be strict at times because he is the Alpha, his love for his children is deep. Charles, Samuel, and yes, Mercy are lucky to have a father like Bran.
